Sales Trainee / Account Executive

POSITION SUMMARY:

Entry-level trainee media sales position.  For six - twelve months learn the ropes of the business while training to sell media advertising commercial time on local avails, local origination productions, and digital channels, as well as other new products as they are developed.  Upon completion of the training curriculum, position may transition to a seasoned Account Executive.  Must be willing to relocate within the state upon successful completion of program. 

TRAINING CURRICULM RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Month one to six :
•Ø      50-75% of time - perform Sales Assistant Responsibilities
•o       Research backup to sales assistant in designated office(s)
•o       Assist designated Account Executives with presentations, media kits, traffic, billing issues, production and collections
•Ø      25-50% of time - perform Account Executive responsibilities
•o       Learn to develop, sell, and maintain advertising client base driving advertising revenue by shadowing Sr. Account Executives.
•o       Handle sales activity for sick, vacationing or departing Account Executives

Month six - twelve:
•Ø      60 - 90% of time - perform Account Executive responsibilities
•Ø      10-40% of time - perform Sales Assistant Responsibilities
•·         Responsible for supporting and maintaining company initiatives and metrics as related to department performance and client satisfaction.
•·         Foster a positive company image.
•·         Comply with all established policies and procedures.
•·         Other functions and focus that may be assigned.
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•·         Bachelor's Degree in Sales and Marketing or equivalent experience.
•·         Two to five years media sales experience preferred.
•·         Excellent written and oral communication skills.
•·         Proficient with computer software and technology.
•·         Good working knowledge of marketing research.
•·         Travel is required.
•·         Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
•·         Ability to relate well with the general public and employees at all levels.
•·         Must be able to relocate to other Insight Markets should opportunity prevail
