What are the different programming options?

Insight Media offers traditional local advertising on 60+ cable networks as well as long format advertising options on local cable channels, Internet, and video-on-demand. These options vary by market; contact Insight Media for more information.

What are GRPs?

Gross Rating Points. This is the sum of all ratings for all programs in a schedule. The key distinction between a "rating" and "GRPs" is one of audience duplication. A program rating implies an audience level with no duplication; GRPs represent some level of audience duplication, hence the term "gross."

What is DMA?

DMA is an acronym for a Designated Market Area. DMAs are a way of designating particular geographic markets, and are often ranked by size of population. New York City is the nation's largest DMA so its DMA ranking is 1.

What is market segmentation?

Market segmentation is a marketing technique that targets customers within a broad group by categorizing them by more specific characteristics. For instance, athletic shoe companies may segment long-distance runners and basketball players (or basketball shoe wearers) separately and create vastly different ad campaigns pitched toward each group.

What is reach and frequency?

Reach is the number of people or households that are exposed to your television commercial. Frequency is the number of time those viewers watch your commercial.

What is spot cable?

Spot cable means buying cable in a specific market or other geographic area. Spot cable allows marketers to pick and choose from a variety of networks and geographic areas, eliminating wasted dollars.
